UCF’s main campus has close to 7,000 living trees within its urban landscape. Proper management of these urban trees is vital for their long-term success. UCF’s Urban Forestry Team is responsible for monitoring the health of the campus canopy, removing hazardous trees, planting the future canopy, and pruning the trees on a planned rotation to provide structural integrity for longevity and safety. The Urban Forestry Team is made up of International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certified Arborists, tree climbers, and skilled sawyers.
