Hazard Trees Replaced on Campus

The Department of Landscape and Natural Resources is committed to providing a safe and beautiful campus, which sometimes results in the replacement of diseased or undesirable plant material.

About Landscape & Natural Resources

Location:

The Landscape & Natural Resources department is located on campus behind the new UCF Police building in Facilities and Safety. The grounds crews and natural resources team operate from this location.

Landscape:

The landscape grounds crews take care of all of the urban vegetation on campus, in Research Park, and at the Lake Nona Campus. Most of this care includes mowing turf, trimming hedges and shrubs, replanting areas that have become overgrown or have died back, and fertilizing when and where necessary. Within our landscape grounds crews, we have a designated Tree Team. These members are in charge of making sure trees are pruned properly and removed and replaced if they become dangerous.

Natural Resources:

The Natural Resources team takes care in maintaining the nature trails on campus, performing prescribed burns in the natural areas, keeping up with permitting and removal of invasive species on campus, and conducting research in these areas. Visit the Natural Resources portion of our website.
